Greta Hanson, M.D., FACOG

Dr. Hanson completed her training as an obstetrician/gynecologist at the University of Vermont in 2008.  She enjoys both the variety of care she is able to provide to her patients, and the opportunity to develop life-long relationships with her patients.  She looks forward to knowing and caring for women throughout their lives: from early adulthood, in pregnancy, through menopause, and on into the wisest years. Her clinical interests include all aspects of obstetrics as well as the evaluation and treatment of infertility.

Dr. Hanson has had an interest in other cultures since living in Italy during high school, and working for several months on a dairy farm in Norway after college.  More recently, she has volunteered for a month at a small hospital in Kenya, spent a week working in an urban hospital in Bolivia, and served as the obstetrician for two weeks at a rural Guatemalan hospital.  Her experiences have made her acutely aware of disparities of health care around the world and she has a personal commitment to support international health organizations.

Aside from her childhood years in northern California, Dr. Hanson has lived in Vermont longer than any of the many places she has worked and studied.  She now calls this her home with her husband and young son.  She likes the proximity of hiking, skiing, or any outdoor adventure combined with the opportunity for good restaurants and music that Burlington offers.
